DB directives in PIL highlighting poor working of SPCB

JAMMU, Nov 10: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Advocate Rajinder Singh Jamwal highlighting poor working of State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) and deterioration in the quality of air, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed and Justice Sanjeev Kumar has directed senior officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation, PHE, UEED, PCB, Traffic and ERA to remain present on next date of hearing.
“All the respondents shall come prepared with the responses with regard to ambient air quality, the water quality of River Tawi, setting-up of STPs and their effective functioning, solid waste disposal scheme/ plan and the plan for reducing vehicular congestions/ vehicular pollution and a report on brick kilns as also on issue of crop burning”, the DB directed.
