DB directive to JMC on shifting of mobile towers

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 16: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a law student Navyug Sethi seeking direction for shifting of mobile towers from the residential areas to the places specifically earmarked as per the guidelines issued by the Jammu Municipal Corporation, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice BS Walia today directed the Jammu Municipal Corporation to file status report as well as response within a week.
In the petition filed through Advocates Monika Kohli and Summit Nayyar, it has been submitted that shifting of mobile towers was imperative to save the residents from serious diseases like cancer, sleep disorders, fatigue, headache, memory loss, depression, hearing problems, joint pains, skin diseases and even cardiovascular problems which are inevitable because of radiation emitted by these towers.
