JAMMU, Feb 26: “Daughters of Panun Kashmir”organized Herath Milan function today at Jammu in connection with the conclusion of the Shivratri festival. The impressive function was chaired by  Moheni Raina, Chairperson, DOPK.  Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education, Culture, Tourism and Horticulture was the chief guest on the occasion while Rajesh Gupta, MLA, Jammu East was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsang Ashram and Yudhvir Sethi, vice president, BJP were the special guests in the programme.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, Panun Kashmir and R.K.Bhat, president, YouthAll India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) made forceful presentations in the important issues pertaining to the community. The programme was inaugurated by the dignitaries and Moheni Raina presented the welcome address.
Those who were specially honoured on the occasion for their exceptional contribution to the social cause included Dr. Ved Kumar Ghai, Savita Bakshi, Bharat Bhushan Bhat and O.P.Sharma. The Minister also released the Hindi edition of the Neelmatpurana edited by Dr. Ved Kumari Ghai in the programme. Bahu H.S.Mehta president, Khalsa Centre, London also spoke on the occasion. Vote of thanks was presented by Vimla Chrungoo, secretary, DOPK while the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Kusum Tikoo, senior artist.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, Panun Kashmir in his address said that the struggle in exile of the Kashmiri Pandit community has reached a very crucial stage where unity among its ranks and the ideological contours have to go together. In this connection he referred to “Comprehensive Political Agenda” launched recently by the KP Joint Action. He raised a number of cultural and social issues which concern the community in general.
Yudhvir Sethi, vice president, of BJP expressed his full support to the cause of the Pandits and said that they have become the beacon light for the nationalist forces across the country.
R.K.Bhat, president, YAIKS took the previous Governments to task who he said did not fulfill the promises made to the package employees. He expressed the hope that the present government would come out with solutions of the problems on priority.
Rajesh Gupta, MLA said that the KPs throughout the world have taken the tradition of Kashmir successfully. He said Panun Kashmir has shown the path of intelligent and fruitful journey to all those who want to tread the path of struggle.
Priya Sethi, in her address  said Kashmiri Pandit community is the soul of Kashmir. There can be no Kashmir without the Pandits. They are the rightful owners of Kashmir. BJP is committed to their honourable and dignified settlement of the community in the Valley as per their wishes. She accepted the proposal for the establishment of Vishnudharmuttarpurana project and extended all help in this regard. She expressed full sympathy to the female package employees and said that she is aware of their woes.
