DAJ takes up demands with Health Minister

JAMMU, Oct 16: A delegation of executive members of Doctor Association Jammu (DAJ) led by its president, Dr Balvinder Singh, met Health Minister, Bali Bhagat and apprised him about the genuine and long pending demands of doctor fraternity of the State.
The demands that were taken up by the delegation include removing pay anomalies in 7th Pay Commission, time bound promotions of Consultants to Senior Consultants and Medical officers to higher grades on regular pattern.
They also demanded reserving 50 % of the posts of Consultants with teaching experience at five newly sanctioned Medical colleges of the State being commenced soon, for the consultants already working in Health Department and fulfilling the mandatory eligibility criteria.
The demands also included improving the working atmosphere at peripheral hospitals, improving security of the doctors especially at Emergency duties, providing rooms for the Consultants at hospitals and making assault on doctors by miscreants a non bail-able offence.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the demands of the delegation.
