Daily wagers, CP workers protest

KATHUA,  Nov 9:  The daily wagers and CP workers from PDD and PHE held protest demonstration at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park here today.
A large number of  PHE/PDD workers from Hiranagar, Billawar, Basohli and other areas assembled at Kathua under the banner of All J&K Low Paid Government Employees Federation (LPEF) and started protest demonstration in support of their long pending demands. District president of the Federation, Kabla Singh was leading the protest while other senior trade unionists including, Tara Chand, Mohinder Paul, Sandeep Sharma, Hari Singh and  Swarn Singh were also accompanying.
The workers were shouting slogans in support  of their demands which included, release of their wages pending for the last more than 45 months  with which their families have been pushed towards starvation, regularization of daily wagers/ CP/ consolidated  workers. They also demanded implementation of  7th Pay Commission report on the pattern of Central Government, revision of minimum daily wage, enhancement of  Medical Allowance of employees and release pending DA installment of July 2017.
Later, they moved to the office of DC Kathua and submitted a memorandum for the Government, projecting  their demands.
