Dah Division flags off trekking expedition

JAMMU, Aug 30: To commemorate the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Dah Division located at Palampur, a combined adventure trekking expedition was launched from Puh to Chumar.
The expedition was flagged off by Brigadier PPS Bajwa, Commander Thanpir Brigade from Dharamshala, today.
The expedition team is being led by Major Dinesh Singh Chahal and Captain Varun Joshi.
The event will cover a distance of approximately 111 kilometers over a period of 10 days.
The expedition encompasses negotiating of treacherous terrain with heights varying from 15000 feet to 18300 feet (PARANG LA) under sub-zero temperatures on self-contained basis. On the way, the team would be carrying out disposal of garbage dumped by trekkers and grazers to save and revive the ecology and development of the region.
