REASI, Mar 13: With an aim to create awareness among the people about health, hygiene, sanitation, optimal feeding and spread the message of ‘Kuposhan mukt Bharat’ under ‘Poshan Abhiyaan’, a Cylothon was organised in Reasi by ICDS project Reasi.
Rajinder Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi flaged off the Cyclothon (bicycle rally) in an impressive function, here.
Rajinder Kumar, along with, All BDOs of Distt Reasi, CDPO Reasi, Tehsildars, ARTO and Health Department officials led the Cyclothon which passed through the residential areas and the markets of Reasi with an aim to reach the maximum audience.
Speaking at the flag off ceremony, Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi said that the main aim of the campaign is to send a message across the mountain District about Poshan Abhiyaan that will help spread awareness towards health, hygiene, sanitation and nutrition in the area.
He further said that the staff of ICDS and all the line departments under Poshan Abhiyaan need to be channelized in such a way so as to reach every house hold with main thrust on behavioural change, as mere providing of nutrition is not going to solve the problem of malnutrition in the area.
The field staff was asked to maximize home visits along with health workers to motivate them for behavioural change.
Anjum Ganai, CDPO Reasi while highlighting the tough terrain of the area, appreciated the efforts of field staff of ICDS Project, comprising of only females ie Supervisors, Workers and Helpers, and said that they have done a tremendous job but there is still a scope of lot more to be done.
