Curfew relaxed, Govt official held

JAMMU, Sept 26: Authorities relaxed curfew for two hours in Kishtwar town this afternoon even as police arrested a Government employee in mid-night raid last night, taking total number of arrests in the past two days to four including three Hurriyat Conference leaders and separatists.
Authorities relaxed curfew in entire Kishtwar town for two hours from 4 pm to 6 pm. The relaxation period passed off peacefully with no untoward incident reported from any part of the town.
Some of the shops opened and people turned up to purchase essential commodities.
However, Army, CRPF and Police remained deployed in strength in the town to thwart any kind of protests.
SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir and Additional SP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom along with other senior officers were conducting patrolling in the town. Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ghulam Nabi Balwan was monitoring the situation.
In the midnight last night, police arrested a Government employee Raju Kelam son of Nazir Ahmad, a resident of Hidyal on the charge of instigating violence. He was working as Flock Supervisor in Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department in Marwah.
He has been booked in FIR No. 157/2016 under Sections 124-A, 120-B and 153-A RPC.
With this, number of total arrests has gone up to 4. Three Hurriyat Conference leaders and separatists were arrested in wee hours of yesterday morning, leading to protests by the people followed by imposition of curfew and deployment of Army.
