Cultural treasures

Civilized societies of the world have always evinced keen interest in preserving their cultural manifestations to remind upcoming generations how glorious their cultural past has been and how much their forefathers have contributed to the enrichment of human civilization.  Great and small nations have essayed to preserve these manifestations by making repositories in which these remain preserved and in academic terminology these are called Museums. Top museums of the world are a wonder and awe inspiring because when we look at the marvels preserved in them we are in a grip of disbelief. Such is the grandeur and glory of human civilization.
India is an ancient country; she has great cultural traditions and has inherited much that makes us boast of our past. Five Indian museums have made to the top 25 Asia list of Travellers’ Choice by Trip Advisor, displaying artifacts and collections that date back to centuries. And what a happy surprise the Museum in Ladakh occupies 21st place among the top 25 Asian Museums. This brings pride to our country and our State. We would like to give three cheers to the patriotic and art-loving Ladakhis who have built the museum with sustained efforts over several centuries. We are confident that their efforts of enriching the museum will never become slack and the day will not be far away when Ladakh Museum could steal the show and become the top most museums in the Asian continent.
