CUJ entrance test for fresh admissions on May 17-18

JAMMU, May 16: For fresh admissions, the Central University of Jammu is conducting entrance test on 17th -18th May, 2017 for nearly 15,000 applicants spread over 08 centres, which include 05 at Jammu, 02 at Kathua and 01 at Udhampur.
The Central University of Jammu is among ten Central Universities collegium which is conducting CUCET 2017 and is among top ones in terms of preference for seeking admission to different courses.
CUJ was established on August 2011 and since then it has been making admissions for various academic programmes. At present, University offers 34 programmes which include 19 Post Graduate programmes, 04 Under Graduate programmes, 08 Doctoral programmes besides 03 Skill based programmes.
The applicants seeking admission are spread over 15 States of the country as the University has emerged as one of the favourite choice among applicants. In fact, in 2015, University received less than 3000 applications for 12 Post Graduate programmes, which rose to nearly 10,000 in 2016 and in 2017 it has shot upto 25,000. The Science Departments of UG programmes have attracted highest number of the candidates from the entire country.
It is worth to mention that in last academic year, the University introduced 06 courses in science subjects which includes five year integrated programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and M Sc course in Nano Sciences and Molecular Biology.
The Central University of Jammu was sanctioned Kendriya Vidyalaya by Ministry of Human Resource Development for which admission process has started with an overwhelming response. The University has so far received about 1500 applications for about 150 seats. The CUJ is the first educational institution to set up a Kendriya Vidyalaya in the State.
