CUJ constitutes Advisory Sports Council; Pathania Chairman, Kalra Co-Chairman

JAMMU, Apr 7: In order to promote sporting excellence and to formulate long term Sports Policy, the Central University of Jammu has constituted an Advisory Sports Council, here.
The 12-member Council constituting of top sports achievers and experts of International Standing from the State will be headed by Prof Deepak Pathania, Dean of Students Welfare (Ex- Officeo) and Co-Chaired by Ace Sports Administrator and Former State Cricketer Ranjeet Kalra.
The other 10 members include Ashok Kumar, Director Sports Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra; Rajesh Gill, Former Ranji Trophy Cricketer and Chief Prosecuting Officer J&K Police; Rajesh Dhar, Member Working Committee JKCA, Sports Columnist and Lecturer in Physical Education (DYSS); Surinder Singh Bunty, Former Footballer and Resident Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA); Kuldeep Handoo, Chief Wushu Coach of India; Haji Abdul Qayoom, Chief Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council; SP Singh International Gymnast, Ex- Gymnastics Coach of India and Senior Officer in J&K State Sports Council; Bilquis Mir, International Water Sports Expert and Chief Coach of Indian Team; Dr Narinder Bhatial, Sports Medicine Expert and Dr Bachha Babu, Assistant Professor, Department of MCMN.
The Sports Advisory Council will render expert advice to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima regarding the promotion of sports in Central University of Jammu, University Sports Calendar (Coaching & Tournaments), Sports Infrastructure and drafting of Sports Policy including any other advice deemed fit by the Council.
It is mandatory for the Council to hold meeting once within six months.
