JAMMU, Mar 9: CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Jammu organised Annual Flower show cum Kisan Mela at Chatha Field Station, here today. This annual event was organised as part of a  major research & development mission programme known as CSIR-Aroma Mission: Value Addition of High Value Aroma Ingredients for Socio-Economic Upliftment & Rural Prosperity.
Director, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu  Dr Ram Vishwakarma informed the audience about the aims and objectives of the National seminar-cum-Exhibition on Kisan Mela, Entrepreneurship programme and Flower Show and also highlighted the achievement of the CSIR.
Padamshree Balwant Thakur, Director ICCR was chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the  National seminar-cum-Exhibition on Kisan Mela, Entrepreneurship programme and Flower show and gave the prizes to the winners of various categories.
In the floral painting competition , in the category of  5-8 years,  Keshav Verma and Radhika of  Shiksha Niketan School got 1st and 2nd Prizes and Vinayak Singh of BSF School, Jammu bagged third prize.
In  9-12 years category, Himadari Anand of  APS Jammu, Manasi Kalsi of BSF school and Simranjat Kour of  KV Sunjawan received 1st, 2nd and third prizes respectively.
Similarly in 13-`16 year category,  Mohd Shehzad Abdullah of  APS Ratnuchak,  Manik Billowria  of BSF School and Shallu,  RRL School won 1st , 2nd and 3rd prizes.
In Gardens and Lawns; Private Gardens maintained by individuals (area less than 75 sq. meters), the first prize went to Dr Vandhana Sharma, Channi Himmat, Jammu, while the second prize was bagged by Devanshy Gulati, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and the third prize went to Kanupriya Garg, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The consolation prize was bagged by Pratima Mishra, Nagrota.
In Private Gardens maintained by individuals (area more than 75 sq. meters), the first prize was clinched by Brig. TK Chopra, Satwari House Jammu, the second prize went to Chairman, J&K Bank, Jammu and the third prize was claimed by Dr SK Shukla, Principal BSF, Paloura.
In Garden of Flag Staff House, Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh 16 Corps Nagrota won first prize, while the second prize went to Maj Gen Sanjay Singh SM VSM Satwari and the third prize was bagged by Brig Abhayjeet Chandra SM, Domana, Jammu. The consolation prize was bagged by Vijay Laxmi Bali, Meeran Sahab, Jammu.
In Public Park and Gardens, the first prize went to Rajinder Park, Canal Road, Jammu, second to Evergreen Park No. 34, Channi Himmat, Jammu and the third prize to Janana Park, Talab Tillo, Jammu. The consolation prize went to Park No. 11, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
In Institute/Estate Clubs/ Service Mess/Guest House, the first prize was bagged by Lt Col Basharat Bhat, Satwari, Division A, Jammu, the second prize went to Col Mohit Momgain, Officers Mess, Amphala, Jammu and the third prize went to Capt. Gagandeep Singh, UOI, Officers Mess, Satwari, Jammu. The consolation prize went to Col Cheema, Stn. HQ Ratnuchak, Jammu.
In Gardens and Lawns maintained by Educational Institution/ Universities/ Religious Institutions, the first prize went to BSF Sr Secondary School, Paloura, Jammu, the second prize went to Army Public School, Damana, Jammu, while in Gardens and Lawns maintained by Industrial Units, the first prize went to Lupin Pharma., Badi Brahmana, Jammu and the second prize went to Gulati Oils, Badi Brahmana, Jammu.
Rose Garden: JDA Park, Jammu (1st), Vijay Park St. HQ Nagrota (2nd) and Bagh-e-Bahu, Jammu (3rd)
Herbal Garden: Army Public School Damana, Jammu (1st), Brig. Abhayjeet Chandra, SM Damana, Jammu (2nd) and Brig PM Bali, Meeran Sahib, Jammu (3rd).

Foliage Plants, Cacti & Succulents Cacti & Succulents: Renu Gupta, APS Damana, Jammu (1st), Devanshy Gulati, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu (2nd) and Lokesh Narayan Dhar (3rd).
Crotons & other house plants and perennial foliage plants (3 pots or more of same variety): J&K Bank, Rajinder Park Jammu (1st).
Fern (3 pots): Devanshy Gulati, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu (1st), Vijay Lakshmi Bali (2nd)

Cut-Flowers Section-I Annual (3 Stem of Each): Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh, Nagrota (1st), Cygnett Park Asia, Jammu (2nd) and Sub. Maj Satpal Singh, Nagrota (3rd). The consolation prize went to Lt Col Sandeep Kumar, 22 Ammunition, Samba and Brig DG Misra, Ratnuchak.
Any Other Flower Category (Three have been selected: Bird of Paradise, IHBT Palampur; Lillies; Dimple Kumar and Ranunculus, Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh.
Best Rose of the Show (1 stem): Sub Maj. Satpal Singh 16 Corps, Nagrota.
Rose arrangement (5 stems or more, same or different variety, green buds belonging to the stems of the exhibits are allowed one stem of more each variety): Pratima Mishra Nagrota (1st), Cygnett Park Asia (2nd) and Lokesh Narayan Dhar, Deptt. of Floriculture, Jammu (3rd). The consolation prize went to  Ruchika Khajuria, Jammu.
An artistic arrangement of cut flowers: Ruchika Khajuria, Jammu (1st), Pratima Mishra, Nagrota (2nd) and Cygnett Park Asia (3rd). The consolation prize went to  ADM Commandant St. HQ, Ratnuchak.
Floral Display: Carpets; Pratima Mishra, Nagrota (1st), Vinita Rana, Miraan Sahib, Jammu (2nd) and Vinita Rana, Miraan Sahib, Jammu (3rd). The consolation prize went to Jyoti Singh, Chatha.
Advance Growers (Farmer): Best maintenance, advance growers of Aromatic Plants; Om Prakash Tripali, Billawar (1st). Best maintenance, advance growers of Medicinal Plants; Sewa Ram, Kishtwar and Best Entrepreneur, HIM Herbs Pvt Ltd, Nurpur, Himachal Pradesh.
Best Stall: Sehaj Krishi Jammu (1st), Baba Deep Singh Kathua (2nd) and KVK SKUAST Jammu (3rd). The consolation prize went to DG Knot. The consolation prize went to Army Public School, Ratnuchak.
