JAMMU, Feb 6: The Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) on ‘Restructuring of Police Cadre’ couldn’t meet today in the absence of two Ministers, who were unable to make it to the meeting.
Education Minister Naeem Akhter and Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu, both from the PDP didn’t make it to the meeting prompting Industries and Commerce Minister Chander Prakash Ganga of BJP, the Chairman of the Committee, to defer the CSC meeting.
Ganga, Health Minister Bali Bhagat and Forest Minister Choudhary Lal Singh, all from BJP and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Choudhary Zulfikar Ali of PDP were present at the meeting.
The meeting now will be held at a later date, official sources said.
This was the first CSC meeting this year.
The CSC was set-up following open differences between PDP and BJP over the posting of KPS officers on higher posts like DIGs without their induction into the IPS.
