CS reviews implementation of Agenda of Alliance

JAMMU, Mar 8: Chief Secretary, B B Vyas today chaired a meeting with the Administrative Secretaries to review the department wise implementation of the ‘Agenda of Alliance’.
Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department presented a department wise action taken report in the meeting.
Chief Secretary observed that the steps taken by the departments towards realizing the agenda points, set out in the ‘Agenda of Alliance’, need further updation and presented accordingly to the Sub-Committee constituted for the effective implementation of ‘Agenda of Alliance’.
Chief Secretary asked Administrative Secretaries to submit the updated status report to the General Administration Department (GAD) within a week.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of work on the prestigious AIIMS projects coming up at Samba and Awantipora.
Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Administrative Secretaries of the departments of Power Development, PW(R&B), PHE, Forests, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and other senior officers attended the meeting.
Status in regard to handing over of land to the CPWD, provision of water supply, electricity supply, connecting roads and fencing was reviewed in the meeting.
Chief Secretary emphasized on expeditious completion of all the critical works for start of main construction on the projects by the CPWD. He asked Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education to periodically review and monitor the progress with the concerned departments.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary chaired a meeting to discuss the issues related to healthcare facilities for senior citizens and Central Government pensioners.
Principal Secretary, H&ME, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Administrative Secretaries of the Departments of Industries & Commerce, General Administration, Social Welfare, President and members of the Executive Committee of Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association and other senior officers attended the meeting.
It was informed that under the Central Government Health scheme (CGHS), healthcare needs of eligible beneficiaries covering Central Government employees & Pensioners are catered through CGHS Wellness Centres and one such centre is operational at Jammu and Union Government has been requested to grant approval for opening of another Wellness Centre at Srinagar.
During the meeting issues related to regular checkups of senior citizens at Old Age Home Amphalla, dedicated facilities for senior citizens at Government Hospitals, empanelment of local chemists for supply of medicine to the beneficiaries and earmarking of separate allocation by the Union Government for J&K under CGHS were also discussed.
