CS chairs Secretaries Committee meet

JAMMU, Apr 1: A meeting of the Committee of Secretaries was chaired by the Chief Secretary, Mohammad Iqbal Khanday here today.
The Chief Secretary identified various important issues of the departments, which will have priority tags.  These include, construction of flyover at Jehangir Chowk, Srinagar, and Bikram Chowk, Jammu, by the Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA), immediate construction of Sopore bye-pass bridge, construction of Panchayat Ghars in the State, construction of stadia in the districts and speeding up the construction programme of colleges, polytechnics and ITIs.
The Chief Secretary also sought latest status of some important schemes from the Administrative Secretaries, which include the implementation of the Saffron Mission and SKEWPY.  He also desired strict implementation of the Public Services Guarantee Act and sought putting all the departments on the Results Framework Document (RFD) initiative for 2013-14 immediately, for which timelines were given to the departments.
The Revenue and R&B Departments were asked to thrash out land acquisition issues of the four-laning of the National Highway 1-A and other important projects involving such matters immediately.  The IT Department was asked to roll out the SMS based monitoring mechanism for important ongoing projects in the Public Works (R&B) Department, the Public Health Engineering Department and the Power Development Department.
The Education Department was asked to attend to the development of school infrastructure under SSA and RMSA on priority and the Higher Education Department to take steps to operationalise all the colleges both in terms of faculty and infrastructure.
All the departments were asked to refer the available vacancies, earmarked for the fast track recruitment process, immediately to the recruiting agencies.  Further, all the departments were asked to submit the details of vacancies of Junior Scale KAS officers, available for direct recruitment to the General Administration Department, latest by April, 15, 2013, so that these are referred to the Public Service Commission for initiating the selection process.
