Cross-LoC trade suspended

POONCH, July 11:  The cross LoC trade between India and Pakistan through Chakkan-da-Bagh in district Poonch, remained suspended today in view of shelling  by Pakistani troops on the Trade Centre building two days back  and also killing of a couple at Khari Karmara near Poonch.
Trade Facilitation Officer (TFO), Chakkan-Da-Bagh,  Tanveer Ahmed (Custodian) told the Excelsior that in view of the tension along the LoC in Poonch sector, the cross LoC trade  remained suspended today.  He said due to shelling by the Pakistani troops on the Trade Centre building some damage has been caused to the structures there.  Two persons were also killed and three children injured in shelling by Pak troops at nearby village Karmara.
Due to tension along the LoC for the last couple of days, the bus service  between the two sides was also suspended on Monday. The trade also remained suspended today as gates were not opened by the Pakistani authorities and the Defence authorities on this side also did not show any response. He said tomorrow also there is no chance of resumption of trade and it is likely to remain suspended for rest of the week  till Friday.
