Cross border firing stops on LoC in Rajouri, Poonch

 

JAMMU:  Unprovoked firing by Pakistan stopped along the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch districts.

   “In Laam sector of Nowshera, the ceasefire violation stopped at 1010 hrs, while in KG sector of Poonch, the firing stopped at 0815 hrs,” a Defence Spokesman here said.

    Earlier in the morning, Pakistani Army yet again shelled forward Indian posts by firing mortars along the Line of Control in Poonch and Rajouri districts.

   “Pakistan Army this morning, at around 0620 hrs, initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars in Krishna Ghati sector  along the Line of Control,” the Spokesman added.

   The Spokesman further said that Pakistan Army also initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics RPG, Recoilless Rifles and mortars from 0845 hrs in Laam sector of Rajouri.

  “Army retaliated strongly and effectively, while no injury or damage has been reported on own side,” he added. (AGENCIES)
