POONCH, Dec 21: The District Administration has detained a notorious criminal hailing from Mendhar area under Public Safety Act.
A senior police official said that identified as Tahir Hussain Shah, son of Bagdad Hussain Shah, resident of village Rellan, in Gohlad area of Mendhar, this accused person was wanted in 10 cases pending against him in various police stations of district Poonch. He had been lodged in Mendhar Police Station recently after being arrested in several theft cases.
Once he had escaped from Gursai Police Station leading to suspension of three Policemen by the SSP, last year. He also had attacked policemen during his arrest in Mendhar town few months back, causing serious injuries to a Head Constable. The police prepared a dossier against him and forwarded to the District Magistrate Poonch and accordingly the accused was detained under PSA for six months and sent to District Jail, Poonch.
