Create sense of security in society: IGP to cops

SRINAGAR, June 3: Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Abdul Ghani Mir has impressed upon the policemen to create a sense of security in the society by remaining sensitive to the concerns and needs of the public.
IGP was speaking at a Durbar of Policemen, CRPF men and officers at District Police Lines, Shopian on his one day visit to the District, today.
He said that creating sense of security is the basic job of the police, besides, crime prevention, detection and investigation. He said that the policemen and officers who are working inside and outside the police stations should remain sensitive to the needs and concerns of the general public. He stressed that a complainant who visits a police station should be given patient hearing and his grievance redressed.
He emphasized upon the policemen to improve their behavioral attitude towards the public. He further said that every parent wants that his children should get education and progress in life and it is our duty to create such an environment that there are more and more incident free days with schools and bazaars remaining open so that normal activities of life goes on uninterrupted.
He lauded the efforts of the police in dealing with the law and order and other situations by being prompt and stressed upon the policemen and the CRPF men to work with zeal and zest and assured that their grievances and problems will be taken care of.
Inspector General of Police also chaired an officers meet which included DIG South Kashmir Vijay Kumar, SP Shopian Mumtaz Ahmad, Commandant CRPF Kishore Kumar and other officers of the district.
