JAMMU, Jan 18: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Kartar Singh today rejected the bail application of Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand, son of Bal Gopal of Mumbai, who was involved in Bapu Asaram’s Bhagwati Nagar Ashram case.
According to the police, Bholla Nand, who was Incharge of Bapu Asaram Bhagwati Nagar Ashram in the year 2008-09, tried to implicate Asaram Bapu in false case by conspiring to keep skeletons of dead persons in the Ashram.
After hearing Advocate Amit Bhardwaj appearing for the petitioner whereas Public Prosecutor Shabir Choudhary for the State, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “the investigation is at the initial stage and more arrests are yet to be made. In case the petitioner is admitted to bail, he would jump over and abscond to Maharashtra and in this way he will tamper the investigation and would not be available during the trial”.
“The allegations leveled against him are serious in nature as he has tried to create communal divide between both the communities and wanted that there should be communal rights in the country. The allegations are of such a serious nature that they have repercussions on the whole society of the country”, the court said, adding “this has been done by him under the planned conspiracy in order to earn money by dubious means which is yet to be unfolded as such he does not deserve concession of bail”.
