JAMMU, Jan 10: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Sonia Gupta today rejected bail application of two accused namely Mushtaq Ahmed and Nasir Hussain, who were allegedly booked by the Crime Branch in the fake appointments scam.
During the course of hearing CPO Jawaid Ahmed Khawaja said that petitioners along with others have allegedly issued fake and forged appointment orders on behalf of Commandant IRP 19th Bn. They have received huge money in lieu of fake orders.
“The accused Mushtaq Ahmed has charged approximately Rs 47 lakh and accused Mohd Nasir has charged Rs 13 lakh. Further Mushtaq Ahmed is involved in another FIR No. 104/2017 of Police station Janipur, Jammu for the offences under Sections 420,467/568, 120-B RPC”, the CPO said.
Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Sonia Gupta observed, “the petitioners are involved in a fake appointment  scam and the investigation  conducted so far reveals that they are involved neck deep in the scam”, adding “custodial interrogation  of  the petitioners is required to understand the extent of involvement of petitioners   and others and if the concession of bail is given to them at this stage it may hamper the course of investigation”.
Accordingly, court rejected the bail application.
