Court extends judicial remand of Naved, 5 others

JAMMU, Nov 28: In the much publicized Udhampur attack case, Special Judge NIA YP Kotwal today extended 14 days judicial remand of Mohd Naveed and five others.
After hearing Special PP for NIA whereas Advocates Subodh Singh Jamwal, PN Bhat and Seema Sharma appearing for the accused persons, the court extended 14 days judicial remand of Mohd Naveed alias Usman, son of Mohd Yaqoob of Pakistan, Khursheed Ahmed Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammed Bhat of Awantipora, Showkat Ahmed Bhat, son of Ali Mohd Bhat of Pulwama, Shabzar Ahmed Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Kulgam, Khursheed Ahmed Ittoo and Fayaz Ahmed Ittoo.
After perusal of the application and CD file, the court observed, “accused Khursheed Ahmed Ittoo and Fayaz Ahmed Ittoo, who have recently been arrested have stated some new facts which need to be verified. One accused, namely Fayaz Ahmed Ashwar alias Setha, son of Basir Ahmed Ashwar of Kulgam is still absconding and vigorous efforts are being made for his arrest”.
“Due to recent killing of three HM militants in South Kashmir there is law and order problem and in the present circumstances the investigation in South Kashmir is not possible”, the court said.
