Court directs SHO to appear in person

JAMMU, Jan 9: Taking serious note of non-compliance of directions, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, Kartar Singh today directed SHO Police Station Channi Himmat to appear in person tomorrow.
This direction was passed in an application filed by Balkar Singh and others seeking pre-arrest bail in FIR No 122/2013 under Section 498-A/406/420/109 RPC. They were granted interim pre-arrest bail on December 26, 2013.
After hearing Advocate Ajay Vaid appearing for the petitioner whereas PP for the State, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “Public Prosecutor has made a statement that despite repeated request the SHO Police Station Channi HImmat has not sent the report”.
“Why police report has not been submitted in time and lawful order passed by the Court has been disobeyed”, Principal Sessions Judge asked and directed that SHO shall appear in person along with CD file on January 10, 2014.
Principal Sessions Judge sent the copy of the order to SSP with the remarks, “it has pained much to the court that the police officers subordinate to an officer of your education and standing are not complying with the lawful order of the court”.
