Court denies bail to accused of petrol pump attack

JAMMU, Oct 1: Judicial Magistrate Ist Class Samba, Manzoor Hussain has rejected the bail application of Darbar Singh son of Janak Singh, a resident of village Raya in Samba district, who was involved in case FIR No. 64/2014 under Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 RPC registered at Vijaypur police station.
“In view of facts and circumstances of the case, I am of the view that the applicant/accused (Darbar Singh) is not entitled to the discretion of bail to be exercised in his favour in view of nature, gravity and heinousness of crime allegedly committed by him,’’ the Judicial magistrate said.
He added: “apart from the stage of investigation, which appears to be in the process of recording of statement of prosecution witnesses/collection of evidence and affecting arrest of absconding accused and above all with a view to strengthen and uphold faith and confidence of peace loving citizens in the administration of criminal justice system, the bail is refused and instant application of the accused is dismissed’’.
Darbar Singh along with other accused was involved in attack on petrol pump and damaging vehicles at Vijaypur over a dispute.
Investigations of the case were supervised by SDPO Vijaypur SS Samyal.
Shashi Bhushan Thappa, Advocate represented the application while SPO Pankaj Sethi along with SDPO Vijaypur and Investigating Officer of the case ASI Krishan Choudhary were present in the Court.
