Court acquits 2 accused facing trial in murder case

JAMMU, Oct 22: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Kartar Singh has acquitted Ashok Kumar and Behari Lal, who were facing trial in murder case for last one year as prosecution failed to prove case.
After hearing both the sides, Principal Sessions Judge observed,” the case was fixed for recording the statements of the accused persons under the provisions of Section 342 CrPC but there is no incrimination evidence, which is required to be explained by them. Family members of the deceased including his wife, daughters and son have not supported the prosecution story and have categorically stated that their father was habitual drunk
“They have no knowledge as to how he died. There is not even iota of incriminating evidence against the accused”, the court said while acquitting the accused of the charges framed against them.
