Srinagar, Feb 2: Tanveer Jeelani, one of the top counter-insurgency officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police, has been promoted as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).
Known for his extraordinary role in combating militancy in Kashmir, Tanveer has always led from the front while dealing with militancy and law and order.
He joined the police force after the killing of his father and has been posted on important portfolios including SP counter-militancy Operations Srinagar.
He eliminated, arrested top militants including their commanders.
