Coriander, turmeric fall on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Jan 7: Coriander and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to slackened demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Coriander and turmeric traded lower by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,800-13,900 and Rs 7,600-11,400 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down coriander and turmeric prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 170-230, black pepper (per kg) 710-820, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 810-830 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 850-1,030.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,325-1,425, cardamom (colour robin) 1,175-1,200, cardamom bold 1,225-1,250, cardamom extra (bold) 1,325-1,350 and cloves 510-625. (PTI)
