Coriander, chilli falls on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 23:  Coriander and chilli prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists coupled with adequate stocks.
Ample stocks following increased arrivals from growing regions also put pressure on the coriander and chilli prices, traders said.
Coriander and chilli prices dropped by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,400-13,900 and Rs 9,400-18,400 per quintal, respectively.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 175-240, black pepper (per kg) 740-870, betel-nut (kg) 260-330, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,380-1,390 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,450-1,680.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 550-670, cardamom (colour robin) 550-560, cardamom bold 580-600, cardamom extra (bold) 680-690 and cloves 560-690. (PTI)
