Coriander, chilli fall on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, May 28:  Coriander and chilli prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists coupled with adequate stocks.
Ample stocks following increased arrivals from growing regions also put pressure on the coriander and chilli prices, traders said.
Coriander and chilli prices dropped by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,100-13,400 and Rs 11,000-19,200 per quintal, respectively.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 190-240, black pepper (per kg) 700-840, betel-nut (kg) 250-290, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,350-1,360 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,410-1,600.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 560-740, cardamom (colour robin) 570-580, cardamom bold 590-615, cardamom extra (bold) 690-720 and cloves 550-660. (PTI)
