Copper weakens on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Jan 16:  Copper prices softened by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market.
However, other base metals held steady in thin trade.
Traders said muted demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, led to the decline in copper prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap declined by Rs 2 to Rs 356 per kg.
Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 104-110, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 804-809, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 356, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 89, lead imported Rs 95, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148. (PTI)
