Copper, nickel strengthen on global cues, firm demand

NEW DELHI, Feb 11:  Prices of copper and nickel strengthened by up to Rs 3 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today, tracking a firm trend overseas amid increased demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market.
Traders said apart from firm trend overseas, rising demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market mainly kept copper and nickel prices higher.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4×4) advanced by Rs 2 and Rs 3 to Rs 361 and Rs 814-819 per kg, respectively.
Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 106-112, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 814-819, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 361, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 93, lead imported Rs 99, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148. (PTI)
