Copper futures rise marginally on firm spot demand

NEW DELHI, Jan 8:  Copper futures were up 0.18 per cent at Rs 396 per kg today as speculators raised bets, largely in line with a firming trend in base metals in the domestic spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February rose 80 paise, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 453.30 per kg in a turnover of 396 lots.
The metal for delivery in April also edged higher by 65 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 457.15 per kg in 3 lots.
Analysts said gains in copper and other metals on rising demand at the domestic spot markets influenced metal prices in futures trade here. (PTI)
