Copper futures remain weak, shed 0.12% on low demand

NEW DELHI, Mar 6: copper prices fell further by 0.12 per cent to Rs 451.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in reducing their exposure amid sluggish demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April declined by 55 paise, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 451.80 per kg in business turnover of 1,260 lots.
In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in June contracts was trading lower by a similar margin to Rs 455.30 per kg in 21 lots.
Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants on the back of easing demand in the physical market, kept copper prices lower at futures trade. (PTI)
