UDHAMPUR, Jan 1: In separate cases, a Police Constable and a minor boy committed suicide while two persons were found dead under mysterious circumstances, here today.
Reports said that a Police Constable, posted at Police Academy Udhampur, consumed some poisonous substance at his residence, last night. He was rushed to District Hospital Udhampur, where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his serious condition. However, despite hectic efforts by the doctors at GMC Hospital, he did not respond to the treatment and died today.
The deceased was identified as Anil Kumar (35) son of Chunni Lal, resident of village Chack Udhampur.
In a separate case, a 13-year old boy committed suicide by hanging himself. The deceased, identified as Maik Balo Vizha of Manipur, was found hanging with the ceiling fan hook in Army family quarters at Chack Morh Udhampur. Police has registered a case in this connection for investigation.
Meanwhile, a youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a nallah near village Sin Bramna. The deceased was identified as Vijay Kumar (26) son of Dewan Chand of Sin Bramna. Police took the dead body to District Hospital Udhampur for postmortem and registered a case.
Another young man, who was missing since December 17, was found dead in Chasku forest area adjoining Chenani Sudhmahadev road, under mysterious circumstances. The deceased was identified as Hukam Chand (33) son of Rumal Chand, resident of Bap Chenani.
Police has registered the case for further investigation.
