JAMMU, Jan 23: Lamba-sting the State Government for being apathetic towards the School lecturers engaged on academic arrangements, several such lecturers today assembled out side Education Minister  Naeem Akhtar’s residence and raised anti- Government slogans to express their resentment.
While staging a vociferous protest, the angry lecturers raised slogans in support of their demand for regularization and served Government an ultimatum of thee-day to come out with an assurance to frame an appropriate policy for regularization of their services. They alleged exploitation of the highly educated youth having Ph D, M Phil and PG degrees on nominal wages of Rs 7000 per month.
Seeking regularization of the lecturers engaged on academic arrangements in the Education Department, they sought inclusion of such lecturers within the ambit of Special Regularization Provisions Act of 2010.
“The State and the Central Governments have been propagating the message of ‘Beti bachao… Beti Padhao’ vigorously but the slogan has only proved to be a mere hollow rant. There were thousands of highly educated daughters of the soil who were engaged on academic arrangements but have no social security to earn their bread and butter with self respect. The callous and lackadaisical approach of the Government  towards the lecturers has pushed us  towards starvation and other miseries and we urge the Government to wake up from the deep slumber to take a serious cognizance of the embitterment the youth which could otherwise prove disastrous in the coming days,” said an agitating female Lecturer
Those who addressed the protest demonstration, included, Abhimanyu Sharma, Vinod Kumar, Rajni Jamwal,   Gurjeet Singh, Sangeeta Sambyal, Asha Pathania, Kanchan Bala, Shakeel, Randeep, Balwinder, Bablu Kumar, Seema Kumari, Vijay Sharma, Kiran Bala, Reva Rani and others.
