Contractual Lecturers’ hunger strike enters 89th day

JAMMU, May 13: The ongoing chain hunger strike by Contractual Lecturers (10+2), entered into 89th day today as there has been no response from the State Government on their demand of regularization.
This morning, Bablu Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Ranjan Bala and Payal Rajput began chain hunger strike following which a protest demonstration was also held by the agitating Contractual Lecturers.
They raised slogans in support of their demand and against the Government. They also vowed to continue their ongoing chain hunger strike till their case is conceded by the Government
These Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a policy framed for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/ Contractual/Consolidated employees after rendering seven years of services.
The protest demonstration was addressed by Arun Bakshi, president of Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Association, Seema Rajput and others.
