The expectation of the consumers for having improved electricity can be termed as ‘hoping against hope’ like a proverb hoping . The insensitivity of the successive Governments, right from the dawn of freedom, towards the improvement of electric-supply to its consumers is being proven every year. This year too, the consumers suffered and are suffering due to inadequate electricity supply. Even today when there remains hardly twenty or thirty odd days of scathing heat, the consumers acutely suffer. One cannot understand why the concerned department is not doing the improvement or maintenance work in the days when people can live without fans, coolers or ACs i-e the in winter months? Why the same is being executed during hot summer days?
Secondly, the department always alleges consumers that they injudiciously use the electricity. Can anyone tell us until today what the department has done to check or remove the same in this year and in what areas?
Under the change of guard at the Centre and at the State too, we expected some improvement in electricity-supply but nothing is seen on ground. Now, the elections are coming in early months of 2019. The candidates will again promise for removing the problems of the people. After coming into power, the power supply will again receive hiccups. Poor consumers will go on suffering.
