Constructive criticism bedrock of democratic polity: Pathania

RAMNAGAR, Nov 5:  MLA Ramnagar Ranbir Singh Pathania, today said that dissent and constructive criticism are life and blood of a democratic polity and the criticism of a Government is also an indispensable thing, may it be on issues of  national integrity and public welfare’ or ‘the much talked of discrimination with Jammu region.
The MLA was addressing party activists during a one day Karyakarta Sammelan of Ramnagar and Chowki Mandals  at Ramnagar.
However, on the same note while making a veiled attack on JKNPP’s Lalkaar rally slated for tomorrow, he said that those criticising and unnecessarily targeting the Government on non-issues are not doing any good service to the people and democracy.
Pathania said that majority of the dents and ills that have been inflicted on the cause of very idea of National Integrity as well as neglect of Jammu region in J & K have been during the period when BJP was in power neither at the Centre nor at the State. He said that wounds and ulcers which suppurated over years cannot be cured off in a single stroke.
Calling upon all the pro-India and pro-Jammu political parties and pressure groups, to come upon a common platform shedding aside their diverse political ideologies and thoughts, he advocated that they should stand unitedly and work for overall peace and equitable development and strengthening of the very idea of India as well as Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions.
Earlier in the day at the start of Sammelan, Pathania along with hundreds of party workers paid tribute to the young BJYM president from Shopian who was murdered by terrorists.
