Congress lambasts Modi Govt for huge taxes on petrol, diesel

JAMMU, Apr 28:  Congress has said that more than 100 percent hike in the Excise Duty on petrol and over 300 percent  hike in the duty on diesel by the BJP Government at the Centre during its four years tenure as compared to the rates during UPA regime has exposed the Modi Government’s approach towards the common man of this country, who is unable to bear the resultant unprecedented price hike of all commodities.
Chief spokesperson JKPCC,  Ravinder Sharma lashed out at the Central  Government for the unprecedented charge in the shape of Excise Duty and tax collection on petrol & diesel, which has over burdened the common man. “The UPA Government managed the prices of petrol and diesel in the country during peak of escalated international prices of crude oil but the Modi Government did not pass on the benefit of record fall of prices of petrol/ diesel in the international; market which is anti people and anti poor attitude of the BJP Government,” he said.
“It appears that instead of “ACHHE DIN” the poor man is forced to  bear with KARVI GOLI of Modi Government, as it has entered the last months of its five year term. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to bring the prices of all commodities under control and change the destiny of poor and common man but after more than four years now the common people have right to question what changed for him,” he said.
