‘Opposition unnerved by air strike’

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU/KATRA, Mar 3: When asked to respond to senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s claim that Pilot Abhinandan attained his Indian Air Force training during the Congress led UPA rule and therefore the credit of his success goes to Congress, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh retorted saying that the Congress has gone so beserk that it could even claim credit for the birth of Abhinandan because for almost 55 out of 70 years after independence, Congress has been the ruling party and, in all probability Abhinandan must have been born some time during the Congress rule.
Speaking to media persons here today, Dr Jitendra Singh said, soon after the Pulwama attack, the opposition parties put up a brave front and came together to take a high morale ground and said they will all support the Modi Government in avenging the Pulwama attack. However, when the Pulwama attack was actually avenged successfully, they were totally unnerved and rattled because they had never expected this to happen, he said.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that opposition parties have got unnerved by the success of airstrike on terror camp in Pakistan. While the Congress leaders are issuing confused and weird statements, those so called mainstream parties like National Conference(NC) and PDP are in a denial mode, not ready to accept that the air strike have happened at all.
It is strange, Dr Jitendra Singh said, some of these leaders are still following same old monotonous approach of questioning the credibility and asking the proof of air strike, just as they had asked for the proof of surgical strike earlier. What is most ironical is that Maulana Azhar and his colleagues have themselves accepted the damage incurred on the terror camp run by them, but some of the opposition leaders are trying to be more loyal to Pakistan by still asking for proof..
Hitting out at those who are drawing a comparison between separatist Jamaat-e-Islami and nationalist RSS, Dr Jitendra Singh said, such blasphemy can be committed by only those who know nothing about the RSS. He said, while Jamaat calls for breaking the country and survives on Hawala money from Pakistan, RSS is a patriotic organisation with a nearly 100 years history of sacrifices made for upholding the nationhood of India. He cited the example of how Nanaji Deshmukh, the then RSS Chief who had sustained injuries on himself while shielding Jai Prakash Narayan against Lathi charge during Emergency, even though J P Narayan was neither a member of RSS nor Jan Sangh. Unlike Jamaat leaders, who have made fortunes for their kiths and kins, most of the RSS leaders have made supreme sacrifices for the children of Mother India.
Later, at Katra, Dr Jitendra Singh convened a meeting of Reasi district administration and citizen-representatives in the presence of newly posted Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib, Deputy Chairman Katra Municipal Committee Ajay Baru, Councillors,Sarpanches and Panches.
Dr Jitendra Singh reviewed the progress of various development works started by him and urged upon expediting them.
