VIJAYPUR, Oct 1: Former Minister and JKPCC General Secretary, Manjit Singh accused ruling BJP of compromising its stand for the lust of power in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The BJP which always stood against the special status of Jammu and Kashmir is now openly defending Article 370 which it used to oppose as Dr Nirmal Singh, Deputy Chief Minister has said, “We will work on agenda of alliance and will not touch Article 370”.
“They have compromised their stand for the lust of power,” he said, while speaking during the meeting of party workers.
“They gave slogans like one flag and one constitution and use two flags on their officials vehicles and keep same flags which they used to oppose in their offices,” he alleged.
He said that the BJP has divided the people of Jammu and Kashmir for political gains and time has come, when not only Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been exposed for its wrong economic policies which has slowed down the growth rate of India but also badly affected image of the country.
He said that it is not only the special status issue on which the BJP’s double role has been exposed but it is price hike of essential commodities too, adding that the poor have been left with no option to lead a miserable life under the BJP led NDA Government.
He asked the BJP to come clear on special status, and on the holiday of Maharaja Hari Singh.
Coming down heavily on the ruling saffron party, he said, Congress party installed the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh during its regime in Jammu and Kashmir while BJP is creating a political drama.
