Congress among other organizations extend support to Jammu Bandh call

JAMMU, Apr 10: Congress party along with various political, social and student organizations have extended active support to the call for Jammu Bandh on April 11.
Reacting to the situation rising out of the ongoing agitation spearheaded by the Bar Association Jammu, Congress has termed the unrest and Bandh call as a result of failure of the present coalition especially BJP which had got the mandate in Jammu region.
In a statement, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma rubbished the charges of BJP against Congress over the issue of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, who have been hounded out of their country and have infiltrated into various parts of the country including State over a long period of time.
Similarly on the issues of controversial minutes, he said that this is the great disservice of the present Government especially Tribal Affairs Department to the age old traditional harmony in the State especially in Jammu region as the communities have lived in peace and complete harmony since long. “The BJP after having created much hype over the issue, announced to get the same rescinded but after about two months it failed to settle the issue. Any encroacher should be dealt in accordance with the law irrespective of caste, creed, colour or religion but without any prejudices or selectively basis,” he added
On the issue of the rape and murder of a minor girl, Congress chief spokesperson has termed it as a most ‘heinous’ and ‘shameful act’ and stressed that the guilty should be dealt sternly under law and awarded exemplary punishment. “The party has time and again said from very beginning that there can’t be any leniency with the culprits but again it was the duty of the Coalition Government to ensure a credible investigation so that the common people have full faith in the investigation. The BJP ministers and leaders had openly supported the demand of agitators for CBI enquiry, as such again it is the Coalition Government which is responsible for the present mess on the issue,” he explained.
The president of Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) and former minister Th Gulchain Singh Charak, after deliberations and exchange of views with the working committees of the DSS and the All Jammu Civil Society Forum (AJCSF), decided to render full support to the J&K High Court Bar Association Bandh call to express resentment against the anti Jammu policies of the J&K State Government.
The JKHCBA has called the Bandh in protest against the illegal settlement of the Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, the minutes of the Tribal Affairs Deptt and to support the demand of a CBI probe into the Rassana rape and murder case in Kathua.
President Jammu and Kashmir Ex Services League (JKESL), Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal (Ex MLC) also declared the JKESL’s total support to the Bandh call and the three related issues calling the illegal settlements of Rohingyas and the spirit of the minutes of Tribal Affairs Deptt as having serious security ramifications in the long run as these offer open chances of misuse and exploitation.

Urging the businessmen of Jammu to support Bandh Call voluntarily, JJSF has termed CCI president as Jai Chand of Jammu.
In an emergent meeting of JJSF,  chaired by its president Advocate Pushvinder Singh and after full deliberations therein on the serious and burning issues concerning the future of Jammu province,  the organization  unequivocally decided to extend its unconditional support and full contribution in the ongoing agitation.
JJSF also decided to boycott the present office bearers of Chamber of Commerce and Industries as they were allegedly  playing with sentiments of Jammu region.
Former Minister and MCP State president  Thakur Randhir Singh has also extended active support to the Bar Association Jammu and its demands on deportation of Rohingyas.
Maintaining that the State  NCP will join the peaceful Bandh in Jammu division, he appealed to all sections of society to  maintain communal harmony particularly in District Kathua and also appealed the State police not to suppress the freedom of speech during this Bandh.
Public Opinion Forum held an emergency meeting here today to extend full support to Jammu Bandh on April 11. The members of the Public Opinion Forum met under the presidentship of Parveen Kumar Sharma and deliberated on various issues being faced by Jammu and decided to give wholehearted support to all the non-political forces working for resolving all pending issues of Jammu province.
Speaking on the occasion,  Parveen Kumar Sharma, president of the Forum,  appealed the public to observe bandh tomorrow to show solidarity with Bar Association Jammu. He opined that Rohingyas presence in Jammu cannot be tolerated as it is a serious security threat and a blatant attempt to change demography of the region.
Contrary to the CCI stand, Beopar Mandal, Prem Nagar Newplot Jammu has extended whole hearted support to the Jammu Bandh call by Bar Association Jammu.
In a statement, issued here today,  president of the Beopar Mandal, Kapil Dev Sharma  said that the Bar Association was fighting for the right cause and dignity of Jammu people.
Tanda Tiger Force core group has extended its full support to Bar Association called Jammu Bandh on 11 April 2018. “We support all the demands of Jammu Bar Association stated Th. K P Singh, Organiser of Tanda Tiger Force and Chairman of Raj Tilak & State Foundation Day Celebration Committee”. Supporting Nowshera public demand, Tanda Tiger Force demanded constitution of a Commission to form more districts  in Jammu Province.
