VIJAYPUR, Jan 10: Monthly meeting of Congress workers in Vijaypur Assembly constituency was convened, here today by senior Congress leader Arun Sharma.
A number of Congress activists from block Purmandal, Vijaypur, Nud, Sumb, Ramgarh, and other areas participated in the meeting, wherein Identity Cards, issued by PCC. chief were also distributed among them by Arun Sharma.
During the meeting, the Congress workers highlighted the local issues and problems, being faced by common masses. They drew attention towards the problems of poor supply of electricity, drinking water, bad condition of roads, non availability of ration in the Government depots,
The farmers said that they were badly affected due to the denomination move of the Government as the rates of the vegetables have dropped to lowest and they were not getting minimum price of their produce.
In address to the gathering, Arun Sharma asked the Congress workers to approach every individual at booth level for making them aware about the failures of incumbent Governments at State as well as in the Centre besides highlighting the pro-people policies of the Congress party. He stressed that only Congress can provide a people friendly and pro-poor good Government.
“The Congress Party believe in secularism and over all development of all people, irrespective of caste, creed, religion and region,” he said and highlighted the contribution of Congress leaders to build the nation.
Arun charged the PDP-BJP coalition Government with failure on all fronts and said that since the day one of this regime, the graph of communal riots, militant activities, corruption and unemployment has increased. “While PDP is pursuing the agenda of separatists, BJP has completely surrendered the interests of Jammu people for lust of power,” he alleged and predicted that people of the State would teach both the parties a lesson in the next elections.
