Cong will expose BJP: Jora

LEH, Oct 2: Former minister and CLP Leader Nawang Rigzin Jora today said that Congress will expose BJP and play a constructive role projecting burning issues of the public.
Addressing District Congress Committee (DCC), Leh functionaries and workers  during annual convention here today, Jora said people had high hopes from BJP and had given opportunity to serve but now they are realizing their mistake. They have been suffering badly due to misrule of BJP-PDP combine.
Earlier, the DCC leaders led by P Namgyal  and Rigzin Jora  offered tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by offering `Khataks’ at his portrait. The convention  was also attended by senior leaders Norbo Gailson, former CEC Rigzin Spalbar, MLA Nubra Deldan Namgyal, large number of party workers including block presidents.
In his welcome speech, DCC president Tsering Samphel said that  Modi Government came to the power with a wave but now people are repenting and realises their mistake for voting them into power. Counting a long list of issue such as GST, ration quota, petrol prices, gas cylinder etc Tsering Samphel said that from today onwards, Congress will play constructive role to highlight various issues of public.
Nubra MLA, Deldan Namgyal said that how Hill Council chairman Dr Sonam Dawa interferes in administrative transfer policy which resulted in unfortunate incident in Nobra recently where pregnant lady died due to non-availability of Gynaecologist.
Former Minority Commissioner, Namgyal Shunu, Youth Congress leader Tsering Namgyal, Mahila Youth Congress president Eshey Lamo, former Executive Councillors, Councillors, farmers Sarpanches, Nobra Block president Sonam Rimo, Seva Dal president Tsepel and many others  addressed the gathering.
Later, talking to reporters CLP leader  and MLA Rigzin Jora said that on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, Congress  decided to holds its annual convention as Congress need to be activated. He added that Congress had decided to give two years to BJP led Hill Council to perform its duty without any criticism but now people have lots of problems, be it ration or developmental activities so, now after taking feedback from party leaders and workers, Congress will play constructive opposition role to highlight various issue.
Jora also informed that Congress Policy and Planning Group led by Dr Manmohan Singh is expected to visit Leh soon, as they have visited Jammu and Srinagar recently to hear the public grievances.
