Cong terms demonetization biggest scam of history

JAMMU, Jan 3: Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today criticized the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes and termed it one of the biggest scams in the history.
Senior functionaries of the party held public meetings , addressed demonstrations and also organized press conferences at various district headquarters to express their ire against the demonetization.
Vikram Malhotra general secretary, JKPCC along with DCC president Jammu Urban Anil Chopra addressed a press conference at Party Headquarters at Shaheedi Chowk and criticized the Union Government for demonetization.
Another general secretary of the Party, Namrata Sharma  with DCC president Udhampur, Ashok Gupta also held a press conference at Udhampur and took the Union Government to task for banning currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination.
The senior Congress leader and former Minister Mohammed Sharief Niaz  along with Haider Sheikh and Sheikh Mujeeb other party leaders addressing a protest rally at Bhaderwah termed the demonetization as the biggest scam in history.
Talking to reporters at Jammu Malhotra said with the decision of Prime Minister farmers, labourers, small traders, shopkeepers were worst hit. He demanded that the restrictions on withdrawal of money be lifted with immediate effect and till restrictions were in place special interest of 18 percent per annum be provided to all bank account holders.
Senior Congress leader and Prabhari J&K Manmohan Katoch while addressing a press conference at Samba today criticised the Prime Minister on demonetization and alleged that poor suffered a lot with this decision. He also wanted to know that how much black money was unearthed till date.
At Udhampur Congress leaders Namrata Sharma and Ashok Gupta asked the Government to reveal that how much black money has been unearthed.
Mohammed Sharief Niaz while addressing the protesters at Bhaderwah said that demonetization has failed miserably and now it has destabilized the economy of the country.
