JAMMU, Aug 4: Congress Seva Dal took out a procession at Press Club Jammu against the policies of State Government.
Speaking to the media State Congress Seva Dal chief B S Sambyal strongly condemned the step taken by BJP, PDP Coalition Government whereby the Government has stopped issuing sugar to the people of the State ration card holders. Only BPL ration card holders will be provided the sugar and flour on the double rate, which is just few rupees less than market rate which a BPL ration card holders cannot afford as per previous rate Rs. 8.50 kg whereas new rate has been fixed Rs. 13.50 per kg Atta whereas in the previous ratio the Atta was provided 20 kgs per ration card whereas presently the same has been reduced to 3 kg per person.
Sambyal said that previously the sugar was issued 3 kg per ration card and the rate for the same was fixed Rs. 13.50 per kg whereas presently only 700 grams is issued that too to the BPL category only and the rates has been fixed at Rs 25/per kg.
He said that during the elections the BJP had given false slogan that Achay Din Aaeynge but it is worthwhile to mention that the same has been reversed as the rates of all the essential items have been increased.
Sambyal said that the common people are fed up with the policies of the Coalition Government and remember the old days before 2014 in the State and also said that the BJP MLAs have completely surrendered before the PDP, having no feeling for the Jammuites who are suffering on all counts. State Government has imposed double tax in J&K as tax is being charged at Lakhanpur and GST was also being charged. The toll tax at Lakhanpur should be frozen immediately.
Those present on the occasion were Daljeet Singh, Shashi Bhagat, Vinay Mahajan, Rajni Sharma, Chander Parkash, Raj Kumar, Pardeep Singh, Yash Pal Singh, Swarn Singh, Krishan Kumar, Neelam Dogra, Shubham Krishan, Choudhary Ghar Singh, Uttam Chand, Avinash Singh and others.
