POONCH, Mar 3: Congress activists today held strong demonstration and blocked road in protest against the shortage of ration in district Poonch here today.
Led by District Congress Committee president S Rajinder Singh (Kaka), the Congress workers from district body and Youth wing assembled near Main Chowk here and started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans against FCS&CA Department, concerned minister and Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.
During protest, the congress activists also blocked road for about an hour and disrupted movement of traffic. It was however, restored with the intervention of local police. The DCC president alleged that there was shortage of ration in the district and levy sugar was not available for the last four months. The department has totally failed to provide ration to the public.
