KATHUA, Aug 4: Turning tough on opposition parties, Union Minister of State in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that  Congress and National Conference (NC) support Rohingyas and Bangladeshis but oppose West Pakistan refugees.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a party function at Hatli 25 kms from here, the Union Minister took the two parties to task for their double standards and said as Congress has failed to get the vote of 130 crore people of this country it is eying on foreigners and party deliberately settled the Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in the country.
Strongly advocating for deportation of Rohingyas and Bangladeshi settlers in India, Dr Jitendra Singh said “there are certain issues which we have to discuss above political party affiliations  and draw bottom lines for national integrity and security”.

He, while lambasting NC, said the party should also explain its role over settling of Rohingyas in Jammu when the party has been all along opposing granting of fundamental rights to West Pakistan refugees.
He said it is strange that some parties in the State want to take all the benefits from Constitution of India but at the same time they don’t wish to apply fundamental rights of Constitution of India which is its basic principal. “Time has come that such people needed to be exposed before the masses”, he added.
While referring to maintenance of National Register for Citizens (NRC), Dr Jitendra Singh said that the decision in this regard was taken by former Prime Minster, Rajiv Gandhi while signing Assam Accord in 1985 that the NRC will be maintained to detect the outside voters and it is strange that now the party is opposing its own decision.  This way the Congress is exposing itself,” he added.
“The Congress as well as NC are responsible for the settlement of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis and now they are opposing their deportation”, he said, adding “it is not known whether Congress is not trying to fight the next election with the support of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis”.
While quoting former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, Dr Jitendra Singh said that during the Bangladesh war in 1971 the late Prime Minister had said that her Government will not allow any foreigner settler (Bangladeshi) irrespective of their religion to be absorbed in India. But now the Congress party is also backtracking from what its own party leader when she was the PM had said, he added.
Later addressing a mammoth public rally, Dr Jitendra Singh made a frontal attack on Congress and accused the party for giving the dynastic rule to country for 48 long years on the name of democracy.
He said out of 70 years after independence, Congress ruled the nation for about 60 years out of which Nehru Gandhi dynasty ruled for 48 years in the country. He said the BJP gave the concept of grass root level democracy to this nation as  Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his work from a rail platform.
“BJP gave a concept to the nation that a poor child can also dreamt of becoming Prime Minister tomorrow, he said, adding  this is the democracy in real sense when a grass root level worker reaches higher post”, .
Dr Jitendra Singh said Congress is in great desperation and they are now trying to seek foreigners vote whom they settled in the country over the years by changing the demography.
He said the nation is facing a great challenge at present and they (opposition parties) are all ganging up against Narendra Modi who has come from a humble family. “Instead of strengthening the democracy in 70 years they tried to make Jammu Rohingyas vote bank and now are denying the formula of NRC given by then Prime Minister, late Rajeev Gandhi during Assam Accord in 1985 and the declaration of another former Prime Minister, Late Indira Gandhi made in 1971 that no outsider (Bangladeshi) will be allowed to live in India. “The Congress has forgotten its own leaders just for vote bank politics”, he added.
They (Congress) under a conspiracy tried to settle the foreigners in frontier states of Assam and J&K, he said, adding Congress for its vested interests adopted the policy of divide and rule.
Without naming Article 35A Dr Jitendra Singh said that under one law no daughter of J&K married outside the State can have claim over her ancestral property. “A Hindu woman married outside can’t have any right over her ancestral property under this law”, he added.
He said Congress, NC and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) speak same language over Rohingyas settlement. The Union Minister said that the Rohingyas have to leave this country and no one can stop it now. He said but there should be a probe that who brought them here. This was only done to change vote demography, he added.
Lashing out at Congress, he said some days back Congress leaders and other parties said that why Jammu Airport has not been named as Maharaja Hari Singh Airport. But he asked the party to explain the people that it was the son of Maharaja Hari Singh who was  the Sadar Riyasat and Union Civil Aviation Minister. “Besides another Congress leader from the State who was also the Union Aviation Minister why they did not name the Jammu Airport on the name of Maharaja at that time”? he asked
He said not only this why the first Degree College established by Maharaja in Jammu which was named as Prince of Wales College was named Government Gandhi Memorial Science College and not Maharaja Hari Singh Memorial College by the Congress. The party owes an explanation to the people for it, he added.
How illogical it is that the Congress leaders’ including the son of Maharaja was Minister at Centre and they accuse the BJP of doing the blunder, he said, adding 10 years back BJP installed Maharaja’s statue at Tawi bridge and Congress leaders skipped the programme fearing that Kashmiris will get annoyed.
While commenting on people’s problems, Dr Jitendra Singh said Shahpur Kandi and Ujh Multipurpose Project were deliberately delayed for last 40 years and the result is that people in Kandi are facing  water scarcity even after 70 years of independence. He said with the construction of these projects, the water and power problem in the area will be solved and Kandi will remain Kandi no more.
He announced that the foundation of seed processing plant in Kathua district will be laid soon and said that Rs 40 crore have been earmarked for construction of road to Hatli on which work will be intensified soon.
He also assured the gathering that the drinking water issue as well as laying of electricity poles will be taken up by him with concerned authorities soon to find a solution to the problem.
On the occasion, the Minister distributed free gas connections among women belonging to poor, SC and ST families.
Addressing the gathering BJP senior leader and chairman party’s OBC Morcha, Rashpal Verma highlighted the achievements of Modi Government and the welfare schemes launched for the upliftment of youth, poor people and downtrodden. He said BJP is committed to PM’s mantra Sabka Saath -Sabka Vikas and all poverty alleviation programmes launched by Modi Government have been implemented on ground.
BJP district president, Prem Nath Dogra also highlighted the polices and programmes of Modi Government and accused Congress of exploiting the masses for votes only.
Narender Singh alias Babloo and Janak Bharti were among other BJP leaders who spoke and highlighted the problems of the area.
