SURAT (GUJARAT), Nov 3: Union Minister and BJP Co-incharge of Gujarat Assembly election, Dr Jitendra Singh, said here today that Congress party must apologise to Gujarat for the injustice done by it to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
In a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi’s remark that the people of Gujarat have begun to understand the difference between the “Satya” (truth) and “Asatya” (untruth), Dr Jitendra Singh said, whatever be the seriousness of this remark, one thing is clear that Rahul Gandhi has understood the difference between the “Satya” (truth) and “Asatya” (untruth) of Sardar Patel. If Rahul Gandhi really means what he is saying, then the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty would have to go one step further and redeem the sin of having wronged Sardar Patel, he added.
All of a sudden, in the last few weeks, under the pressure of Gujarat elections, Dr Jitendra Singh said, Congress Vice-President has started eulogizing the name of Sardar Patel in every programme and rally held by him in the State, but, he said, how can the people of Gujarat forget that it was a conspiracy of the Congress Party led by Nehru-Gandhi family which deprived Sardar Patel the legitimate right and opportunity to become the first Prime Minister of India.
Dr Jitendra Singh also challenged the Congress Party to clear its stand on the issue of Pattidar community and the Patels. He alleged that the Congress Party is creating confusion among the masses without clearly stating as to whether it is ready to change its stand as far as the reservation policy and the OBCs are concerned.
Referring to a meeting of Pattidar Organization Committee (POC) held on Wednesday, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the community members are themselves challenging the self-styled claim of Hardik Patel as their leader. The community leaders, he said, have gone to the extent of accusing Hardik of following a personal agenda.
Reiterating that it is BJP and BJP alone under the leadership of Narendra Modi, which can ensure fair deal and justice for all, including the Pattidar community, Dr Jitendra Singh said that with each passing day, all sections of society in Gujarat are gradually rallying around the BJP.
Earlier, a two-minute silence was observed in the memory of slain BJYM leader from Kashmir, Gawhar Ahmed Bhat.
