SRINAGAR, Mar 13: Congress Legislator Mohd Muzaffar Parray from Kashmir has lodged strong protest after he was denied invitation by Govt for laying foundation stone of a road in Sopore area of Kashmir on Sunday.
In a press statement today, the Congress MLC said, ” It is most painful and plaintive that the Govt has disregarded and disrespected me by not inviting on the occasion of laying of foundation stone in respect of widening of Haigam-Sopore Road via Tarzoo.”
He further stated that this proposal was floated by him in the Legislative Council many times and at one occasion, Late Mufti Mohd Sayeed, the then Chief Minister had assured him that this proposal will be crystalized but the concerned Ministry played pranks with the commitment of the then CM. The Govt had also assured in the House that project will be taken up with the estimated cost of Rs 1415 lakh under Central Road Fund.
“It is unfortunate that the local MLA tried to steal the march over him by overshadowing his contributions in various fields. By resorting to unethical exercise, the Govt under the influence of local MLA, they tried to keep him away, showing most disrespect to the public representative from the opposition party. The Chief Minister laid down the stone and he was not invited to this important function,” Parray regretted.
